| Using a process dependent on time and chance, Oscar Munoz creates work that reflect his interest in self-portraiture and the political and cultural elements of his country, Colombia. In one particular Series, Narcissus, Munoz lines Plexiglas boxes with paper which he fills with water. He then draws an image of himself on the surface of the water with charcoal dust which settles onto the paper as the water evaporates. The resulting images vary slightly depending on the material of the surface and the weathering effect the water has on it. Munoz currently resides in Cali, Colombia. |
